35 Million People Chose Jeollabuk-do Province
Domestic and Foreign Tourists Have Visited Continuously in the Face of ‘2017 Visit Jeonbuk Year’
In the face of ‘Visit Jeonbuk Year’, 34.4 million domestic and foreign tourists have visited Jeonbuk in 2017 as of November. If even tourists in December are added, a total of those tourists seem to largely exceed 35 million people which has been set up as the goal of Year 2017.
Jeonbuk Province has designated the year 2017 as ‘Visit Jeollabuk-do Province Year’ to do its best to attract domestic and foreign tourists and publicize or promote Jeonbuk.
First of all, as this Province developed customized tourist products as well as successfully held international competitions including Muju World Taekwondo Championships and FIFA U-20 World Cup Competition, domestic and foreign tourists have increased largely.
In addition, in order to induce its tourists, our Province has prepared and arranged tourist products by themes and by seasons as well as online special events in the face of spring tourism weeks, autumn tourism weeks, and Chuseok golden consecutive holidays.
Because this Province has combined online and offline public relations and has diversified its tourist target limited to Chinese tourists into East Asia, Japan, Hongkong, and Thailand, the number of foreign tourists visiting Jeonbuk Province amounted to about 34 million people, which increased by 78.9% compared with Year 2016.
By virtue of these efforts, the number of tourist visiting Jeollabuk-do Province in 2017 reached about 34.4 million people as of the end of November. Including up to even December, the number of those tourists is expected to greatly exceed 35 million people, which was set up as the goal in the beginning of this year.
Jeonbuk Province plans to escalate the image of Jeonbuk Tourism enhanced due to ‘Visit Jeonbuk Year’ in 2017 into ‘Visit Jeollado Year’ in 2018 as well as establish diverse tourist infrastructures appropriate to tourists’ needs to foster Jeonbuk Province into a world tourism city.
