Jeollabuk-do Promotes the Convergence Industry of Hologram
R&D and Commercialization of Core Technology
Jeollabuk-do will make efforts to nurture promotion industry in order to lead hologram project of the future industry expected to lead the fourth industrial revolution. Hologram convergence industry will be proved and commercialized in five fields of 'hologram heritage', hologram commercialized vehicles', and 'hologram smart farm' etc. by using seven core technology R&D and cultural heritage contents, tangible as well as intangible, from 2020 to 2027.
Jeollabuk-do will construct hologram contents service support center in Iksan, realize hologram convergence technology in all fields of the industries including vehicles, education, manufacturing, distribution etc., and provide new region with occupations from 2019 to 2023. From this year to the next year, Jeollabuk-do will construct hologram contents experiential zone at the modern time historical and cultural area in Gunsan to use it for performances, education, and exhibition theme parks.
Hologram is a technology of realizing the object with three- dimensional structural effect to tune to the real things through interference, one of the traits of light. It is a word made by adding holos meaning 'complete' a Greek word and grama meaning 'information'. General people know it as a realistic media. It can be used in all of the industrial fields because it can get out of the limitation that the existing real-sense type content technologies such a 3D, 4D, AR, and VR are applied to existing games. So, it receives attention as a future industrial power.
Jeollabuk-do will develop the technologies by expanding and specializing hologram into many fields and construe Jeonbuk specialized model through expert human resource nurture and industry promotion.

- Royal Canin’s Gimje Factory Functioning as an Asian Hub Global pet food(nourishing food for companion animals) company Royal Canin has been completed at Gimje in Jeonbuk, to be expected to assume the function of an Asian hub. Royal Canin, which held its completion ceremony in Gimje Horizon General Industrial Complex on September 10, had been already established by veterinarian Jean Cathary at Montpellier in France in 1968 in order to manufacture functional feed for companian animals. This company is the producer of customized nourishing premium pet food for companian dogs andd companion cats, which has established 14 factories in about 90 counturies in the world. Since Royal Canin Korea concluded its investment agreement with Gimje city in Jeollabuk-do in September 2014, it has invested about more than 80 billion to complete its Gimje factory this time.
